This Privacy Policy explains how Sunna App ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, shares, and safeguards personal data when you use our mobile and web application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). If you have any questions, contact us at amtg590@gmail.com.

Data We Collect
Depending on how you use the Service, we may process the following categories of data:
- Account and Authentication Data: email address, name (if provided by you or your identity provider), avatar URL, authentication provider (Google, Apple, or email/password), Firebase UID, platform (iOS/Android), and sign-up timestamp. Authentication is handled through Firebase Authentication and social providers.
- Profile Data: optional information you set in your profile, such as display name, gender, birth year, and avatar. Avatars are uploaded to Firebase Storage and the resulting file URL is stored in the database linked to your account.
- Gameplay and Progress Data: quiz points, levels, in-game currencies (e.g., dirhams, gems, tokens), lives, answered question statistics (e.g., counts of correct, wrong, skipped), and other progress indicators necessary to run the quiz features.
- Location Data: latitude/longitude and derived city/country when you grant location permission or choose a city. Coordinates may be sent to our backend (Firebase Cloud Functions + external geocoding/places APIs) to determine your city. We store the resulting location data in local device storage to calculate and schedule prayer times. We do not persistently store your location in our user database.
- Notifications and Preferences: your app language, theme, prayer-time notification preferences, and local prayer-time schedules are saved using local device storage (Capacitor Preferences) so the app can work offline and remind you at the right time.
- Analytics Data: events and usage metrics collected by Firebase Analytics (e.g., screens visited, feature usage). Analytics data is used to improve app quality and user experience. We do not use analytics to infer sensitive characteristics.
- Push Notification Identifiers: if you enable push notifications, your device may receive a push token provided by Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM). We use this token solely to deliver notifications you opted into (e.g., prayer time reminders).
- Feedback and Reports: feedback messages you send us and question reports you submit inside the app, including your UID (if logged in) and timestamps, so we can review and improve content.
- Log and Device Data: limited technical data such as device type/OS, app version, timestamps, and crash data may be collected by our analytics and platform providers to ensure reliability and security.
How We Use Your Data
- To authenticate users and secure accounts.
- To provide core features: quizzes, progress tracking, prayer-time calculations, notifications, and personalization (language, theme).
- To respond to feedback and support requests.
- To maintain safety and prevent abuse or fraud.
- To analyze usage and improve the Service.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
Legal Bases
Where required (e.g., in the EEA/UK), we rely on the following legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the Service you request (e.g., account creation, gameplay, prayer-time scheduling).
- Consent: for optional features such as location access and push notifications. You can withdraw consent in your device settings.
- Legitimate Interests: to secure the Service, prevent abuse, and perform limited analytics to improve quality.
- Legal Obligations: where processing is necessary to comply with applicable law.
Data Storage and Retention
- Account and profile data are stored in Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, and Storage).
- Location and many app preferences are stored locally on your device via Capacitor Preferences; prayer-time notifications are scheduled locally.
- We retain account data while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time via the app or by emailing amtg590@gmail.com. Backups and logs may persist for a limited period as required for security and compliance.
Sharing and Transfers
- Service Providers: We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Realtime Database, Storage, Analytics) and Firebase Cloud Functions that may call external APIs (e.g., Google Places/Geocoding) to derive city/country from coordinates. We also use Apple/Google for social sign-in and Apple/Google push services (APNs/FCM). These providers process data on our behalf.
- Legal: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the Service.
- International Transfers: Firebase and related services may store or process data in multiple regions, including the United States and the European Union, subject to their security and compliance frameworks.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child provided personal data without appropriate consent, contact us and we will take steps to remove the information.
Security
We use technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including Firebase security controls, access restrictions, and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

By accessing or using Sunna App, you agree to these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Accounts and Access
- You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
- You may sign in with Google, Apple, or email/password. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable laws.
3. App Features
- Quizzes and Progress: The app tracks your progress, scores, and in-game items to operate core features.
- Prayer Times: With your permission, we use your device location or selected city to calculate prayer times and schedule reminders.
- Notifications: You can enable or disable notifications in the app and device settings.
4. Virtual Items and Premium
The app may include virtual items or in-game currencies (e.g., dirhams, gems, tokens) and premium features. Virtual items have no real-world monetary value, are non-transferable, and are provided under a limited, revocable license. Any purchases, if offered, are subject to the terms of the relevant app store. Refunds, if any, are governed by applicable platform policies and law.
5. User Content and Conduct
- You are responsible for content you submit (e.g., feedback, reports, profile information) and must ensure it is lawful and respectful.
- You may not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or misuse the Service, or infringe the rights of others.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including content, software, and trademarks, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app in accordance with these Terms.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or availability of the Service or content.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or revenues arising from your use of the Service.
9. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if required for security, legal, or operational reasons. You may stop using the Service at any time. You can request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Changes
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
